Advent of user generated content sharing sites like Kinclip, Redtube, Youporn, and Xclip is beginning to have an effect on the traditional adult entertainment providers like pay per view video sites and DVD download sites.
These new sites allow users to share their home made adult oriented video content with the world. Most of this takes the form of video clips though some of the sites also offer facilities to host web cams and video blogs as well. This concept of incorporating user content, community building, and social networking, to adult sites is called Porn 2.0 following similar Web 2.0 concept.
They do this for free, so that downloaders of these home made videos do not need to pay anything. These sites mostly subsist on advertising revenue though some add to that revenue through offering sponsored content and allowing paid users greater features and privileges.
All this is bad news for traditional paid adult entertainment providers on the Internet. Once users have got used to free adult content they are not likely to pay extra for anything other than truly higher quality content. Since not every providers of adult content can go up market, prospects for most professional adult content providers are bleak.
While there have been accusations against the new sites regarding violating copyrights and running at a loss, these seem to be teething troubles, that are likely to be fixed without much effect on their forward march
In other words Kinclip.com, Xtube.com, Redtube.com, Youporn.com, and xclip.tv, represents the future of adult entertainment online.
